"It’s an honor to represent the Guatemalan culture as a woman living in the states. The strong influence of family, honor, work, and dedication all representing the face of Guatemalan culture reflect the person I aspire to be. My father came to the United States, in a vulnerable state, leaving everything he had behind to work for a better life he deserved. The steps that he took as an individual only knowing one language and had no family to have his back, separated the barriers between doubt and certainty. Sharing a side of Guatemalan culture has motivated me as an individual to find happiness through loved ones, value resilience, and to find beauty in everything."
