Description
"At the age of twenty-six years old, I am a proud mother of a little boy who's Mexican and Peruvian. As for me, I am a second-generation child of an Immigrant father rooted from Mexico. In 1995, that was the first time I visited Mexico. Just at the age of 2 months old. And from what I can remember, every summer, and winter vacation, my family and I drove over to Mexico to be with family in Turicato, Michoacán. Their home was just famous for Carnitas and the traditional dish mole. Growing up, as a little girl, I always loved visiting my Abuelito’s Rancho, where he had many bulls and fields filled with sugarcane. That was truly his happy place. And my Abuelita, she was the most wonderful person. Needless to say, she always took care of everyone within her life. And fed anyone who was in need. And that is why her strength inspires me every single day. So as I remember this moment here, it will be in honor of my grandparents."
